Sparkler Photography
Taking sparklers photos is not as easy as pointing and clicking. There is lots of planning and preparation involved.
Manual Settings
Auto settings will not cut it for sparklers photos. You are going to need to shoot with a long exposure. You will need to adjust your ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. Each camera will have different settings. You can usually find a YouTube video that is specific to your camera.
Tripod
You will need a tripod or a stable surface to set your camera on or the images may come out blurry.
Darkness
The darker it is the better. Sparkler photos taken during the day will simply not look as good. Make sure you eliminate any light sources to get the most vibrant photos.
Still – Photo Settings
Set your ISO to 400, aperture at F/4, and shutter at 1-2 seconds. These are guidelines that should be tweaked depending on your camera. You will also need to have the person in the photo stand very still or blurring will occur.
Editing
Once your photos are taken you will need to do some editing, so they really pop! You can adjust the brightness, contrast, and highlights till you find the perfect combination.
